We are passionate about becoming the worldwide leader in higher performance Electric Powered RC Products and Accessories.

MaxAmps is a proven leader in the RC industry. Out of all the battery suppliers on the market, we were the first to offer lipos for rc cars. We also build our packs here in the USA to order so that you don’t get a pack that has been sitting on the shelf for months. You can order it any way you want including cells, plugs, taps, wire, and configuration.

As far as safety goes, all lipo packs are not created equal. I can assure you that since we build our packs here and we personally double check every pack before it goes out, our quality control is the best in the industry. We use very thick high-temperature kapton tape to cover every connection in the pack. This minimizes the risk of an internal short. Some manufacturers are using black electrical tape, masking tape, or no tape at all. We use a proprietary welding method to attach one cell to the next. This lowers the resistance of the connections between cells and insures the highest discharge possible. Other manufacturers are soldering the cells together or using a simple “spot weld” on each tab. This is inconsistent and can cause balance issues. It causes excess heat build up and lowers the performance of the pack.  Anyone who is telling you that their cells are “safer” does not have a good understanding of the technology. We pre-match all the cells in the pack with other cells of the exact same voltage to minimize future balance issues with the cells.

We do not use hard plastic cases for several reasons. They trap the heat from the cells and cause the packs to heat up. They also do not allow you to see what is happening in the pack so if a cell begins to “puff”, you would not even know it with a hard plastic case. The hard plastic cased packs do not perform as well as our packs because of heat build up. They also require 2 sets of connections, one to get to the speed control and one to get into the pack. That means more resistance and lower performance. They also take up valuable space in the battery tray that we fill with more capacity. That is why our 6000mah pack is the same size and weight as other manufacturers 4800.

Regarding using “hard plastic” cases vs “PVC covering”. I am not going to argue that a hard plastic case in some cases would keep a pack from getting dented or damaged. However, I have flown an airplane with one of our packs into the ground at over 100mph and the pack bounced out and was fine. I have also flipped my RC18T at 70 mph and rolled it 15-20 times with a lipo pack. The pack flew out and bounced down the pavement and was just fine. We use a double layer of very thick pvc to cover our packs. It will hold up to pretty much any thing you would throw at it. Not to mention that most trays have hard plastic around them that will protect your pack in the event of a serious crash.

I am sure you have heard of Traxxas. They are the largest manufacturer or RC Cars on the planet. When Traxxas needed packs for their new line of VXL brushless vehicles, they called on MaxAmps. They use our packs for testing and in fact our pack is the only pack that fits their new VXL vehicles. Traxxas can choose to work with any company that they want. They choose MaxAmps.

Our quality and service is hands down the best in the industry. We back it up with an optional 3 year 300 cycle warranty. There are thousands upon thousands of loyal MaxAmps customers out there that will not buy batteries anywhere else. Our customer service is second to none. We are always available to take phone calls and answer questions via email. We realize that our customers are our life-blood. We will do whatever it takes to make you a happy one before and after the sale.

We use our own MaxAmps cells in our packs. They have been race proven over the last 3+ years. They are superior in capacity/weight ratio, discharge voltage under load, and life cycles to any other cell on the market. There are discharge graphs all over the internet proving this. If you just go to google and type in MaxAmps graphs you will find a bunch.

You can charge our packs at up to 2C if you use a balance/charging setup like our EOS1210i/LBA10 Balancer Combo.

Investing in a MaxAmps pack will be the best battery decision you ever made. You will get better performance, more cycles, and more fun with MaxAmps.

Best Regards,

Austin Else
